RED RIBBON MEDIA AWARDS

The Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF) Red Ribbon Media Awards, which debuted in 1996, recognises excellence in responsible, evidence-based, effective and inspired journalism in response to HIV/AIDS in Malaysia.
The Awards are presented to members of the media – print, broadcast and web-based – for their outstanding work related to HIV/AIDS during the eligibility period. Last held in 2012, the Red Ribbon Media Awards are making their long-awaited comeback this year to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the MAF.

1 January 2016 - 31 December 2017

Categories

  • Outstanding Achievement in Broadcast Media
  • Outstanding Achievement in Print Media
  • Outstanding Achievement in Web-based Media*

*Includes online news portals, online broadcast channels (streaming services), social media and other web-based media platforms.

Judging Criteria

  • Ability to convey clear and accurate information on HIV/AIDS and/or to constructively address or challenge HIV/AIDS-related stigma
  • Considered use of sensitive, appropriate and inclusive language
  • Originality and creativity in execution
