ABOUT HOT & COLD RUN
The Hot & Cold Charity Run was organised to celebrate the heroic feats of two extraordinary young men who successfully conquered two of the world’s toughest foot races in opposing hot and cold climate extremes - the 9th 6633 Arctic Ultra and the Gobi March -- in their bid to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS.
Jeff and Jerry both share the same passion to end AIDS in Malaysia, particularly efforts to reduce new HIV infections among young people. It is for this reason that they came on board as Ambassadors of the Red Ribbon Youth Club, an advocacy project by MAF to promote HIV awareness, volunteerism, peer education and support among young Malaysians. THE RED RIBBON YOUTH CLUB was set up in early 2010 and its membership has since grown to more than 6,000 youths. Over 12 local and international universities/college took part in this programme and they all carried out HIV awareness campaigns and activities in their campus. These institutions include University Malaya, University Utara Malaysia, Taylor’s College, UniKL, University Sains Malaysia and many more.

HOT & COLD CHARITY RUN 2019
To commemorate Hedzrina and Jeff’s herculean efforts, MAF in partnership with UMFOM will organise a charity run called HOT & COLD RUN on 30 June 2019 at the main campus of University of Malaya in Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur.
This non-competitive event will also provide the opportunity for everyone, including students, to be meaningfully involved in this charity project and contribute to MAF’s fundraising effort. It will be opened to 2,000 runners in 3 Categories --10 KM, 5 KM and 3 KM -- all within the campus ground including its eponymous landmark Bukit Cinta.
Proceeds raised from the MAF Ultra Challenge 2018 and Hot & Cold Run will be channelled to support HIV education and prevention activities for young people under the MAF Red Ribbon Youth Club. Part of the proceeds will also be dedicated to the UMFOM Development Fund.
