Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Award Gala Dinner 2018

Tradition Of Exclusivity

The Malaysian AIDS Foundation has maintained a long and cherished tradition of hosting a high-society soiree known as the Red Ribbon Gala. Traditionally a much-anticipated, high-profile and prestigious event, the Red Ribbon Gala typically features world-class entertainment, high fashion and top-notch hospitality for a memorable evening of glamour and philanthropy. The inaugural Red Ribbon Gala in 1996 featured the first ever Donna Karan trunk fashion show in South East Asia. This set the tone for a continuous run of high-end events, such as the exclusive unveiling of the Chanel Fall/Winter Collection in 2000, a performance by the world-renowned Vienna Choir Boys in 2002, a special runway show by Malaysian-born international designer Bernard Chandran in 2006, the unveiling of Elie Saab Autumn/Winter 2008-2009 Haute Couture Collection in 2008 and live performance by British superstar Leona Lewis in the most recent edition of Red Ribbon Gala in 2012.

The primary objective of the Gala is to raise funds to enable MAC and its 46 Partner Organisations to respond to the growing needs of HIV prevention as well as for AIDS care and support. The Gala is also important because it offers concerned corporate citizens the opportunity to be part of the solution to the AIDS epidemic in Malaysia.
