Welcome to Red Ribbon Gala 2025

An Evening of
Hope & Generosity

We are truly honoured to welcome you to the 2025 Red Ribbon Gala, held this evening at the magnificent Sunway Resort Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Your presence here reflects a heartfelt commitment to compassion and social change, and we extend our sincere gratitude to each of you – our donors, partners, and supporters – for standing with us in this meaningful mission.

Since its beginning, the Red Ribbon Gala has stood as one of Malaysia’s most impactful charitable gatherings. Over the past seven years, thanks to supporters like you, we have raised RM13 million, directly funding life-saving HIV treatment and care programmes for underserved communities. These efforts have brought hope and restored dignity to People Living with HIV across the nation.

Tonight, as we come together in solidarity, we celebrate not only the milestones reached but the lives uplifted through your steadfast support. Your generosity extends beyond financial contribution – it embodies a shared vision of a future free from AIDS and a society where every individual is valued and empowered.

Together, we are creating lasting change. Thank you for being an essential part of this inspiring journey.

About Malaysian AIDS Foundation

The Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF) was formed in 1993 and fully incorporated in 2003 under the Trustees Incorporation Act (1952) to carry out the following objectives and since then, MAF has continued to move forward with its various HIV/AIDS treatment, care, and support programmes in Malaysia.

These programmes include financial assistance schemes for children and adolescents infected with and/or affected by HIV and the medicine assistance scheme to support Malaysians living with HIV in accessing life-saving treatment as well as community-based HIV/AIDS education and prevention programmes nationwide.

Through its activities, MAF is able to reach out to as many people living with HIV as possible including women, single mothers and children with health services, care and compassion so as to improve the quality of their lives as well as help them cope with the pressure of discrimination and empower them to contribute positively back to society.

Our Commitment

Treatment, Care, Support & Preventions Programmes

The Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) is mainly responsible for providing healthcare services. However, the MAF is committed to supporting these efforts by running treatment, care, support, and prevention programs for vulnerable groups affected by HIV/AIDS.

Each year, the Government allocates critical support for public health programs, including awareness initiatives and basic treatment services. Despite this, significant gaps remain in areas such as second-line HIV treatments, shelter homes for homeless people living with HIV (PLHIV), and social support programs.

With added support from our corporate partners, MAF actively addresses these gaps by enhancing access to HIV treatment and care, particularly in low-income and rural communities where healthcare resources are limited.

Through its comprehensive treatment, care, support, and prevention programs, MAF contributes to improving the health outcomes and quality of life for numerous beneficiaries. These efforts also promote greater productivity and social inclusion, aligning with Malaysia’s broader public health objectives.

The Impact

The Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF) deepened its commitment to equitable health access by delivering inclusive, community-based HIV programmes focused on underserved populations across Malaysia.

The Malaysian AIDS Foundation adopts a holistic approach to addressing the structural, geographic, economic, and social challenges faced by people living with HIV (PLHIV). By working closely with healthcare providers and community organisations, MAF strengthens care coordination and expands outreach through mobile clinics and community centers.

To ease financial burdens, MAF offers treatment subsidies, livelihood support, and essential aid, while also combating stigma through awareness campaigns and peer-led initiatives, ensuring continuity of care and improved quality of life for PLHIV.

Looking Ahead:

Sustaining & Scalling Impact

MAF is dedicated to reaching the most marginalised and addressing stigma as Malaysia strives to end AIDS by 2030.

The next phase of our work will center on integration, sustainability, and stronger public-private collaboration, ensuring that proven models in our programmes can expand their reach, deepen their impact, and be sustained through co-financed, community-led systems.

MAF will continue to lead with humility, innovate with purpose, and stand with the communities we serve, to ensure that access to care is universal, equitable, and rooted in dignity and hope.

To realize this vision, bold partnerships are essential. We invite funders, corporate partners, and policymakers to:

An Influential Gathering
Dedicated To A Meaningful Cause

At its core, the Red Ribbon Gala is more than just a dazzling event – it is a meaningful philanthropic movement. As one of Malaysia’s premier networking platforms, it brings together corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, industry pioneers, and high-net-worth individuals, all united for a common cause.

The Red Ribbon Gala aims to deliver a memorable experience with fine dining, entertainment, and elegant ambiance, leaving a lasting impression on guests and donors.

In partnership with leading Malaysian brands, the event offers meaningful brand visibility both at the Gala and across MAF’s communication platforms.

This year’s Gala is expected to generate around RM2 million in PR value, supported by strong media partnerships including mainstream outlets, an exclusive lifestyle magazine, and a major TV station.

The Official Venue

For the fourth consecutive year, the prestigious Red Ribbon Gala will be hosted at the iconic Sunway Resort Hotel, located in the vibrant Sunway City, Kuala Lumpur.

It is located in the heart of Sunway City Kuala Lumpur and is Asia’s leading fully integrated premier hospitality and entertainment destination. The extraordinary physical transformation of Sunway Resort as well as its unparalleled devotion towards achieving sustainability excellence will be highlighted in all external communication and collateral related to the Gala.

Some of the very best features of the new Sunway Resort will be turned into an integral component of the Gala experience, most notably, the special culinary presentation by the talented culinary team of Sunway Resort Hotel.

Media Visibility & Impact

We are delighted to anticipate extensive media coverage and active social media engagement throughout the evening, driven by strategic outreach and the wholehearted participation of our partners and performers. This will not only significantly enhance the visibility of the Gala but also powerfully highlight the meaningful cause we support.

Building on the success of last year’s event, the estimated PR value of this year’s Red Ribbon Gala is projected to reach RM2–2.5 million.

Our Media & Communications team looks forward to working closely with our respected Top Sponsors to fully achieve their branding and corporate social responsibility (CSR) promotional objectives.

Let us come together to celebrate the spirit of generosity and draw greater attention to the vital fight against HIV/AIDS. Thank you for being an indispensable part of this impactful evening!

A Mission To End AIDS

Over 40 years of advances in HIV science, evidence shows that antiretroviral treatment is the most effective tool in not only treating but also preventing the spread of the virus.

SOME FACTS TO PONDER

Malaysians have died to HIV/AIDS-related illnesses

5000

Reported Malaysian living with HIV

x 0 /day

Every day, 9 Malaysians are infected by HIV – an average of 1 new infection every 2-3 hours

of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) in Malaysia don’t have access to life-saving treatment

HOW ANTIRETROVIRAL TREATMENT ACTS ON HIV

Antiretroviral therapy (ARV)

is a life-saving treatment for HIV, designed to reduce the amount of virus in the body and keep the immune system strong.
