Newborn babies born to mothers living with HIV face systemic discrimination even in accessing basic services, including healthcare, setting the stage for a lifetime of challenges.
The stigma surrounding their HIV-positive status often leads to social isolation, exacerbating feelings of marginalisation and hindering their overall well-being. This discrimination further perpetuates cycles of poverty, limiting opportunities for these innocent infants and depriving them of the chance to thrive.
Moreover, the isolation resulting from stigma denies newborns from PLHIV mothers the opportunity for early intervention and support, which are crucial for their healthy development. It’s imperative to address and dismantle these barriers to ensure that every newborn, regardless of their mother’s HIV status, receives the care, support, and opportunities they need to flourish.

Your RM10 donation can provide a nutritious meal for a child living with HIV. This simple act of generosity ensures they have the essential nutrition needed for their well-being and academic success. Your support truly makes a difference in their lives.
A RM30 donation
RM 30 is how much it costs per day for PLHIV who need second line treatment to take their antiretroviral pills (ARV).
A RM50 donation
If you donated RM 50, that’s the same as the average cost of transportation for PLHIV who need to travel one-way from rural Samarahan district to Kuching General Hospital for follow-up treatment.
A RM100 donation
If you donate RM100, It can provide emergency financial assistance to those facing economic hardships, helping them cover basic living expenses.
A RM200 donation
If you donate RM200, you can support the extended medication supply where it can fund a longer course of antiretroviral therapy, ensuring ongoing treatment and opening the door to healthier and more vibrant lives.

If you are a Malaysian citizen, you are entitled to tax exemption for all cash donations as defined (with the minimum total of RM100 within a year) under sub-section 44 (6) of Income Tax Act 1967, Government Gazette: 5879
We need to have your full name (as required to be written on the tax exemption receipt), and mailing address to post the receipt to.
We also collect your email address and phone number to follow up on your receipt if necessary.

HOW MUCH YOUR DONATION GOES TO HELPING PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV
For every RM 1 you donate to MAF, about 70 cents goes to helping People Living with HIV. We spend the rest on management and programme administration costs.
ABOUT THE MALAYSIAN AIDS FOUNDATION
Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF) was formed in 1993 and fully incorporated in 2003 under the Trustees Incorporation Act (1952) with registration number PPAB 03/2003. Our objectives are;
- Prevent the spread of HIV in Malaysia;
- Provide education on matters pertaining to HIV/AIDS to the family and friends of people living with HIV, the general public and the authorities at the national and local level in Malaysia;
- Render support to People Living with HIV;
- Protect the human rights of people in Malaysia who may suffer discrimination due to their HIV status;
Provide financial assistance or such other form of support to bodies, organisations and institutions in carrying out the activities and services described above.
We are responsible for maintaining and protecting the Personal Information under our control. We have designated an individual or individuals who is/are responsible for compliance with our privacy policy.
Identifying Purposes
The purpose for which personal information are collected will be made clear to donors, where information such as full name, address, contact information are needed for the process of donor sign-up process.
Consent
Knowledge and consent are required for the collection, use or disclosure of Personal Information except where required or permitted by law. Providing us with your Personal Information is always your choice. However, your decision not to provide certain information may limit our ability to provide you with our products or services. We will not require you to consent to the collection, use, or disclosure of information as a condition to the supply of a product or service, except as required to be able to supply the product or service.
