Special project in Sabah
SABAH HEALTH ACCESS PROGRAMME (SHAPE)
The Sabah Health Access Programme awards cash incentive to low-income patients diagnosed with HIV and other forms of chronic diseases to help cover the high cost of traveling and other logistic expenses related to their hospital appointment in town. The programme builds critical linkages between rural, low-income patients with the cutting-edge health services there are already available in major government healthcare facilities, but often out of reach due to structural issues such as poverty, challenging public infrastructure and even poor treatment literacy.
