The Red Ribbon Celebrity Supporters also known as RRCS are a group of diverse local celebrities joining forces in pledging their voluntary support to the cause against the HIV/AIDS epidemic launched by the Malaysian AIDS Council and Malaysian AIDS Foundation.
Launched in 2008, the roster of the RRCS has evolved throughout the years with currently the list consist of veteran celebrities from the early 2000s such as Fahrin Ahmad, Dato’ Aaron Aziz and Dayang Nurfaizah with newcomers coming in recently like Vanidah Imran, Dato’ Chef Ismail, Deborah Henry and Sean Ghazi. The RRCS programme includes many well-known celebrities from different walks of life and backgrounds; from Chinese pop-singer, Winnie K to Indian DJ, Aanantha Rajaram to Malay nasyid artist, Muadz Dzulkefly.
The responsibilities of the Celebrity Supporters range from special appearances at events organised by Malaysian AIDS Council and Malaysian AIDS Foundation, visits to shelter homes while a few of them will act as media spokespersons on behalf of MAC and MAF.
These Celebrity Supporters demonstrate a commitment to improving the lives of Malaysians Living with HIV and to galvanise support from the public.
