Designing, installation and commissioning of renewable wind power station

Wind turbines are devices that convert the wind's kinetic energy into electrical power. Wind power, as an alternative to fossil fuels, is plentiful, renewable, widely distributed, clean, produces no greenhouse gas emissions during operation and uses little land. The effects on the environment are generally less problematic than those from other power sources. Large wind farms consist of hundreds of individual wind turbines which are connected to the electric power transmission network. Wind is an inexpensive source of electricity, competitive with or in many places cheaper than coal, gas or fossil fuel plants. Wind power is capital intensive, but has no fuel costs. The price of wind power is therefore much more stable than the volatile prices of fossil fuel sources.

Today's wind turbines are manufactured in a wide range of horizontal axis and vertical axis types

We specialise in the design, installation and commissioning of vertical wind turbine generator. Advantages of vertical wind generator :

Start-up wind speed is low : 1m/s, no mechanical friction , transformer not needed to supply power , Not influenced by wind direction and can overcome the influence of turbulence

Vertical axis Maglev wind power station of 10 kw

Rated Power 10 KW
Size (high / Diameter) 3.6 /3.53M
Blades Material Aluminium Alloy
Blades Quantities 3
Start up Wind Speed 1.5 m/s
Cut –in Wind Speed 3.5 m/s
Rated Wind Speed 13 m/s
Survival Wind Speed 15 m/s
Cut-out Wind Speed 60 m/s
Generator Type AC-3 Phases
Controller Output Voltage 48V
Controller Output Current < 130 Amp

The total amount of economically extractable power available from the wind is considerably more than present human power use from all sources. Max Planck Institute in Germany, carried out a "top down" calculation on how much wind energy there is, starting with the incoming solar radiation that drives the winds by creating temperature differences in the atmosphere. It is concluded that somewhere between 18 TW and 68 TW could be extracted.

Design, installation and commissioning of Palm oil waste disposal (Environmental Friendly)

It is a genuine concern that agriculture, a fundamental element to the existence of mankind, is also responsible for the many environmental ills plaguing the world today. Many agricultural and industrial activities inevitably raise environmental issues; oil palm processing and cultivation are no different. Unregulated palm oil cultivation may result in soil erosion that may cause loss of soil fertility and land degradation, and this is rampant in particularly in the tropics. Chemical fertilizers, synthetic pesticides and other agrochemicals, which have become an integral and indispensable component of modern agriculture, besides increasing production, are known for their adverse side effects as eutrophication of fresh and marine waters, excessive nitrate leaching into ground water and the introduction of pesticide residues in food, soil and water. Similarly, processing of agricultural produce also contributes to pollution. Food processing industries generate large quantities of effluent with a high Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) which, when discharged untreated into watercourses, brings negative effects to aquatic life and domestic water supply.

Palm oil mill effluent (POME) waste treatment plants cater all raw effluent produced. Approximately 0.65 tonnes of raw POME is produced for every ton of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) processed. In 2003, a total of 2,106,956 tonnes of FFB were processed, resulting in 1,369,521 tonnes of POME being produced.

Our EFB composting system offers an effective solution to the oil palm industry's problem of waste disposal. The composting system utilizes 100% POME and EFB and uses a technically advanced method of converting waste matters into compost. Part of the process involve EFB shredding using a high speed hammer mill and then stacked into windrows of 1.5 meter high by 45 meter length in an open field. POME with BOD levels less than 10,000 ppm is then pumped from the pond and sprayed onto these windrows at a specified rate at 3 days intervals. The windrows are turned regularly using a windrow-turner for better mixing and aeration. Composting accelerants are sprayed once at the start of the process to accelerate the composting process. Throughout the composting process, the windrows are covered by an air-permeable covering to avoid drenching by heavy rain and to prevent leaching of nutrients. The covering is crucial for the control of temperature and moisture content, two key factors that affect the speed of composting and quality if the end product. The compost is mature after 70 days and is ready for use. The compost, when used in sufficient quantity, is capable of replacing 66% of chemical fertilizers.

Processing of coal to various downstream products

Chemicals from Coal

Throughout the years, coal has been an important natural resource in the manufacture of chemical products. The resulting tar by-products were refined and used around the world as aromatics for pharmaceuticals, dyes, explosives, and photographic chemicals. World War I and Germany's embargo of aromatic coal tar products — particularly toluene needed for TNT — resulted in the development of the coal chemicals industry.

Most recently, coal gasification technologies have been employed to produce chemical feedstocks, the building blocks from which complex chemicals like plastics, fibers, dyes, and other consumer products are constructed.

Oxygen and a coal/water slurry are introduced into the gasifier under conditions of high temperature and pressure, which produces the synthesis gas in a specific carbon monoxide-to-hydrogen ratio. A portion of the gas from the gasifier is sent to a "shift" reactor to increase the hydrogen content. The two product gas streams from the gasifier — the shifted gas and the raw synthesis gas — are purified in a number of steps. The hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide are removed using the Linde AG Rectisol process. The hydrogen sulfide is converted to elemental sulfur using a Claus process followed by a Shell Claus off-gas treating unit, resulting in 99.7 percent of the sulfur originally in the coal being recovered and sold as a co-product of the operation. Carbon dioxide is also recovered and sold to make carbonated beverages. The purified raw synthesis gas stream is then sent to a "cold box" and cryogenically separated into hydrogen and carbon monoxide using Linde AG technology. The hydrogen is mixed with the shifted gas and sent to the methanol plant, and the carbon monoxide is used for acetic anhydride production.

Methanol is produced using a catalytic gas-phase reactor developed by Lurgi AG. The proper gas feed composition for methanol production is obtained by combining the hydrogen-enriched gas from the shift reactor with the hydrogen gas stream from the gas separation unit.

Using a reactive distillation process, methanol made from the synthesis gas reacts with acetic acid, a co-product from cellulose esters manufacturing, to form methyl acetate. In the final step, purified carbon monoxide from the gas separation plant reacts with methyl acetate to form acetic anhydride. Methanol is also added to the anhydride process to co-produce acetic acid.

Today, coal gasification can be used to gasify not only the conventional feedstocks, but also various wastes such as asphaltenes, petroleum coke, sewage sludge, and used tires and oils to produce electrical power and chemicals.
